Beeing able to capture a period of time far beyond our own vision is incredible and yet very simple. The analogue camera was facing south and loaded with photographic paper instead of film. Exposure time was of 24hrs. The Sun traced it's arc from east to west.

Unusual pictures aren’t they? I had been photographing for 10 years almost exclusively models for fashion magazines when I was living in USA and Canada and was ready to change my glamorous life style for the one of a traveling photographer. My first assignments where in the Caribbean’s and in Central/South America. Living in hotels and eating out everyday I came very close to these retired people who where spending the cold seasons in South Miami Beach (very inexpensive then). Two winters and many rolls of films later I got a three years traveling photo exhibition in France at the FNAC galleries.

At first came a lust for nice cameras (I was 17), then a passion for photography and a desire to see India, so at 19 I left France and travelled overland trough Italia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and made it to India. My precious Nikons where loaded with Kodachrome film (colour transparencies). Some years latter, I had friends (Bob, Richard, Alban, Frederic) who where using Polaroid films and we all played the technique of transfers on watercolour paper. These are the few left from all the ones I gave away. People, keep on photographing with film so your memories will last forever....

On the way to Herculane or how to travel by train in Romania for half the fare of a second class ticket and be at ease in first class… Thanks to Iringo; she never buys a train ticket but takes her friends with her and hypnotizes the controller…. girls are girls and fashion magazines are everywhere.... Simona, top shaktie, top yogie, great friend... meditation: Raluca relaxed, Iringo focused… Mira performing Trikonasana (triangle pose), conferring psychic balance, courage, will-power, self confidence; qualities related to Manipura Chakra…. Simona in Garudasana, a posture on Ajna Chakra (the third eye)... Anca, she could be doing trataka (staring at some external object as a way of developing concentration) but she is actually trying to keep her blue eyes open in the strong light.... Tarot cards and divination, first lesson for Raluca who is always searching for something new…. afternoon meditation... meditation in a yang spirale, a few thousands participants..... photo escapade with Victoria....

Katia's wedding

Katia, the most beautiful woman I know in Romania and the one I have photographed the most. It was difficult to convince her to spend time with me and my cameras six years ago when we first meet but I have notice during all these years as a photographer that my best photographs have never been the easiest ones to make. Sometime courage and tenacity are needed, not to say love and transfiguration. Being in her company called for these qualities in me and we have made together some striking photographs. A few weeks ago as we where having lunch she announced me that she was to get married.... It was an honor to be present at her wedding last saturday......

Meditation in a yang spirale on the night of Mahashivaratri at the yoga hall "Pipera" in Bucarest. I used a special analog camera without lens to record on film the energy field of this meditation. The exposure time was 45mn from 11.30 pm feb 23 till 0.15 am feb 24. The above photograph is very soft because of this unique procedure....

The second day before full moon is charged by the great cosmic power of Tripura Sundari. The most beautiful energies are then surrounding us; perfect afternoon to go for a walk with Alexandra and cameras... I removed the lense from my leica rangefinder and replaced it with the body cap and a 0,2mm pinhole; focal length became 30mm, aperture f/150, exposure was 2s with film speed of 400 iso in the late afternoon sun......

This silhouette belongs to Julia, a swiss goddess living in India... As for the technique behind this photo, it was of course shoot on film and printed on Ilford warm tone fiberbase paper, sepia toned and gold toned, a combination that give this redish color....The final and unique image is a silver print coated with gold. Try this with digital....

In july 2004 I gave a workshop on photography at the "International Spiritual Art Camp ARTE DIEM" in Romania. On the last day, I photographed friends for Yoga Magazine. Victoria called me today asking if I wanted to go make some photos...a few months since I have seen her...Vertical light with no shadow in sight except in this old little rusted Fiat, the windshield was so dirty that I could barely see Victoria thru it but a little rain water helped... she is so sensual, so pure and so spiritual that I never know how to photograph her, too impressed with her beauty so we simply go where there is good light and I wait for her grace to manifest...

Diana just got selected to be part of the national sky-diving team of Romania. She went to find out today about the rest of the team and discovered other girls to be "animals"... So, back to the gym with a personal trainer and serious "mise en condition" in perspective... Când ea zâmbeşte se înseninează. Aşa e Alexandra. Prezenţa ei încântă întotdeauna, chiar dacă uneori e gălăgioasă sau alteori prea tăcută. E Taur – mereu atentă la vitalitatea sa (găteşte bine să ştiţi!). Vorbeşte mult despre visele ei. Găseşte semnificaţii ascunse ale întâmplărilor, de parcă ar vedea cu alt fel de ochii decât restul lumii. E un exemplu în ce priveşte practica hatha yoga şi tapas-urile. N-ai cum să aşterni în cuvinte farmecul ei. Cred ca Alexandra e un mister chiar şi pentru ea însăşi… .
